1. Agreement and eligibility
Lagos Detty Life is operated by Waltz and Pitron Limited (“we”, “us”, or the “Operator”). These Terms and Conditions and Risk Disclaimers govern access to the platform. By clicking Enter Lagos, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter this agreement, and accept these terms. If you disagree, do not enter or use the service. You accept only for yourself, not for relatives, organisations or other people.
You must give accurate account information, protect your account and use your own identity. Do not allow a child or another person to use your account. Profile screening does not prove identity, age, criminal history or trustworthiness. We may restrict accounts where there are credible safety, fraud, age or legal concerns.
2. Platform role and service limitations
The platform offers discovery, optional location sharing, messaging, communities, meetup coordination, event listings and access to third-party web apps. Unless expressly identified otherwise, we are not the organiser, venue, transport provider, employer, agent or guarantor of an interaction or event. Approval of a listing is not a guarantee of its safety, authenticity or quality. SIM profiles, portraits, conversations and simulated map activity are fictional demonstrations, not real people or invitations.
We do not promise a match, a reply, a safe encounter, continuous availability, accurate GPS, real-time updates on a suspended device, successful notifications, or compatibility with every device or embedded website. Maps and distance estimates are not emergency, navigation or personal-security services.
3. Important notice: personal and offline risks
Connecting with strangers and attending activities can involve harassment, stalking, deception, fraud, theft, robbery, assault, sexual violence, coercion, discrimination, injury, illness, property damage, transport accidents, intoxication, crowd incidents, emotional harm or death. Sharing photos, voice notes, contact details or location may expose you to identification, unwanted contact or onward sharing. This is not an exhaustive list; risks may be foreseeable or unexpected.
You voluntarily decide whether and how to interact, disclose information, travel, attend events or meet anyone. To the extent permitted by law, you assume the ordinary risks of those choices and are responsible for reasonable precautions. Meet in public, arrange your own transport, tell a trusted person your plans, verify people and venues independently, respect boundaries, and leave unsafe situations. Do not send money to strangers or treat a profile, photo check or event approval as an endorsement. Consent to a chat or meetup is never consent to sexual activity or further contact.
The platform is not an emergency service and may not monitor conversations or reports continuously. Contact appropriate emergency services or law enforcement for immediate danger; do not rely on an app message, notification or report to obtain urgent help.
4. Liability exclusions and lawful limits
To the fullest extent applicable law permits, Lagos Detty Life, the Operator, and its directors, officers, employees and agents are not liable for harm arising from the independent acts or omissions of users, event organisers, venues, transport providers or other third parties, or your voluntary offline activities, where that harm is not attributable to our breach of a legal duty. This includes the personal, financial, property and other risks described above, whether expected or unexpected.
To the extent legally permitted, we exclude indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost opportunities and reputational losses arising from use of the platform. Services are provided as available without additional warranties beyond those expressly given or required by law. These provisions allocate risk; they do not guarantee immunity from claims.
Nothing excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable liability for fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, death or personal injury caused by negligence where exclusion is prohibited, or mandatory consumer, privacy, data-protection or other statutory duties and remedies. An exclusion applies only to the extent fair and enforceable under applicable law.
Where lawful, you agree not to hold the protected parties responsible for claims based solely on risks you voluntarily assumed or independent third-party conduct covered by this section. This is not a waiver of every legal action. You cannot waive the independent rights of your family, dependants, organisations, the public, lawyers acting for others, regulators or public authorities. Nothing prevents lawful reporting, legal representation, a court claim or a complaint to an authority.
5. Conduct, consent and prohibited use
Do not impersonate, exploit children, threaten, stalk, harass, discriminate unlawfully, scam, extort, traffic persons, promote illegal transactions, distribute malware, circumvent access controls, scrape locations or misuse another person’s data. Do not publish intimate media without consent, expose private information, or send unlawful, abusive or infringing material. Obtain consent before recording or sharing another person’s image or voice. Never use the app while driving or in another unsafe situation.
You are responsible for your content and must have the necessary rights and consents. You retain ownership; you grant us only the non-exclusive rights needed to host, process, display and deliver content for operating and protecting the service. These terms do not authorise unrelated advertising use of private messages or photos. We may remove content, limit access and cooperate with lawful requests, subject to applicable law.
6. Location, privacy and media retention
Entering the platform does not authorise location publication. Sharing starts only after your separate in-app choice and device permission. Approximate locations may be imprecise; precise views require the app’s reciprocal-sharing conditions. Pausing stops new updates but can leave a last-known area visible; hiding removes shared coordinates. Closing the app does not necessarily switch sharing off or guarantee continuing GPS updates. Use the in-app controls to hide your presence.
Account details, profiles, location choices, messages, media, payment references and service records are processed to provide, secure and administer relevant features. Depending on a feature, processing may rely on your consent, performance of the service agreement or another lawful basis. Content is disclosed to intended participants or audiences under the feature’s controls; necessary processing may involve hosting, authentication, payment, mapping and screening providers, including processing outside Nigeria subject to applicable safeguards. We do not publish a user’s location merely because they sign in.
Chat images are compressed to no more than 10,000 bytes. A recipient’s first opening starts a one-hour expiry; sender previews do not. Access expires at the deadline and permanent object deletion is retried through cleanup, normally within one additional minute. Voice notes are limited to 30 seconds and are not covered by the image deletion timer. Unviewed images, other messages, profile information and transaction records are not all subject to that one-hour rule. Recipients may make screenshots, recordings or copies outside our control; expiry cannot erase those copies. Do not share material whose disclosure could harm you.
You retain applicable rights to information, access, correction, erasure, objection, restriction, portability and withdrawal of consent, subject to legal conditions and lawful retention requirements. Mandatory data rights are not waived by entry. Operator contact details, specific general retention periods and the complete privacy notice are pending completion; this section is not a substitute for a complete Nigeria Data Protection Act privacy notice.
7. Coins, payments and refunds
One coin costs ₦200. Standard purchases are ₦1,000 for 5 coins, ₦2,000 for 10, ₦5,000 for 25 and ₦10,000 for 50; custom purchases use ₦1,000 increments. Coins do not expire. Coins are in-app access credits, not investments, deposits or legal tender. Purchases and credits depend on verified successful payment; a redirect or screenshot is not payment proof.
The current direct and simulated chat gate applies at message 20 and uses a coin to continue. Simulated conversations can consume real coins. Meetup joining is free; a full group requires availability confirmation with a coin before chat access. Charges and eligibility shown at checkout apply to each purchase. Paid access does not guarantee another person’s participation or conduct.
We will respect mandatory consumer rights and investigate failed, duplicate, unauthorised or incorrectly credited payments. There is no blanket no-refund rule. Any lawful cancellation charge or refund limitation must be reasonable and clearly disclosed before payment. Service discontinuation and unused purchased balances will be addressed in accordance with applicable law; these terms do not permit arbitrary confiscation. Payment-provider terms also apply.
8. Meetups, events and platform promotion
Meetup creators coordinate participants, not guaranteed attendance. Full-group availability confirmation does not verify safety or guarantee attendance. Event organisers must give accurate prices, dates, venues, ticket conditions and cancellation information; obtain permits and insurance where required; manage security, capacity, accessibility and lawful operations; and honour applicable refunds. Participants must independently assess suitability and comply with lawful venue rules.
Event promotion currently costs ₦10,000 and enters review after verified payment; payment alone does not make an event live. In-app ticket proceeds are allocated 95% to organisers and 5% to the platform, with organiser remittance handled manually. A web-app placement application costs ₦20,000 and requires review. Listings and placements do not imply partnership, certification or safety endorsement. If a paid application cannot be fulfilled, lawful remedies still apply.
External apps, links, media previews, venues and payment services operate under their own terms and availability. Some websites prohibit embedding. We do not control their content, security or service; you remain entitled to remedies for any independent breach of duty by us.
9. Responsibility for unlawful conduct
To the extent fair and permitted by law, you are responsible for reasonably established losses and lawful third-party claims caused by your fraud, unlawful conduct, infringement or material breach of these terms. Any reimbursement obligation is limited to losses attributable to your conduct and reasonable costs; it does not cover our own wrongdoing or non-excludable liability. We will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to respond, and will not impose an undisclosed settlement on you.
10. Restrictions, suspension and service changes
We may take proportionate action for safety, legal compliance, fraud or material breach, including removing content or suspending accounts. Where lawful and practicable, we will explain material restrictions and provide a route to challenge an error. Urgent protective action may occur first. Suspension does not remove mandatory refund, privacy or complaint rights.
We may change features or these terms prospectively. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention and acceptance requested where required. Changes do not retroactively waive an accrued claim or alter an already completed purchase unlawfully. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder applies to the extent lawful; failure to enforce one provision does not waive future enforcement.
11. Applicable law and complaints
Nigerian law governs, subject to mandatory protections applicable to you. Disputes may be brought before courts with lawful jurisdiction; these terms do not impose a blanket litigation ban, compulsory confidential arbitration or a waiver of regulatory complaints. Good-faith informal resolution is encouraged but is not a prerequisite that removes statutory rights or stops legal time limits.
